The hospital treats over 3,90,000 patients on an annual basis and admits over 30,000 patients for hospitalization. Many of these patients are from weaker economic groups and not in a condition to afford the treatment that they need. Mandal provides benefit to over 40% of the patients admitted in the hospital and many outdoor patients. This imposes a significant financial burden on us. We consider these to be a legitimate social cost and a necessary component of our work, but it makes the sustainability of the hospital extremely difficult, with the concessions amounting to over Rs. 9 cr. annually. Your support for one day’s stay charges for 10 poor patients would help us reach out to even more such needy patients and provide them subsidized treatment. We charge Rs. 100 a day for a bed in the hospital.
